Project Pronoun update

A positive symbolic step comes from our latest research showing the number of chief executive officers of the top 100 ASX who include pronouns on their LinkedIn profile has increased from two in January 2022 to five in October 2023.

In January 2022, Diversity Partners and the Pinnacle Foundation launched ‘Project Pronoun’ with the aim of encouraging more Australian business leaders to share their gender pronouns on their LinkedIn profiles. This initiative seeks to generate understanding about gender identity and show support for LGBTQIA+ inclusion in Australian workplaces.

While the increase might seem small, what was particularly notable is that a CEO in the top 20 now lists their pronoun: Andrew Horton (He/Him), Group CEO at QBE Insurance (QBE). QBE was just announced as the ‘Most Inclusive Workplace’ at the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) Awards in December. The highest listing company with a CEO who included their gender pronouns back in January 2022 was number 69 in the top 100.
