Our landmark report on gender diversity in the Australasian rail industry was launched in Sydney in July. The report provides insights into the experiences of women in the sector, profiles supportive practices that are making a difference and provides recommendations to enhance diversity across the sector. It’s based on inputs from almost 600 people. With the sector needing to recruit 70,000 workers to meet the demands of transport infrastructure investment over the next decade, the opportunity to be innovative and inclusive is urgent.
The report includes ten recommendations for organisations and a range of industry recommendations. The Australasian Railway Association (ARA) has announced it will adopt all the recommendations to continue to encourage greater diversity and inclusion in the sector.
